Starting with a building site, a contemporary garden was created to fit into its surroundings. The clients wanted instant impact to surround the driveway, for the proportions to feel in keeping with the house, as well as being keen to incorporate the needs of wildlife, particularly insects, with the plant selection. Deep, lavender and agapanthus filled beds surround the south facing rear patio and there’s a small wildflower inspired area, making great use of a previously neglected corner.

The brief here was to conceive a courtyard style garden that joined the large new extension with the rest of the garden, with space to entertain and relax whilst choosing materials sympathetic to what already existed. Steps off a limestone patio lead up to raised seating and lawn areas.

"Working with Nursery Cottage Garden Projects has been inspiring and a real two-way process. Rupert and Fergus took our brief and responded with helpful suggestions and creative ideas which improved the plans and the end result. They have been efficient and very reliable. We are delighted with their work in general, and our new terrace and planting in particular, and can highly recommend them."
